examples of projects we work on
fair tech forum
For this project we are establishing the Fair Tech Forum: a community that provides an online forum, regular newsletters, on- and offline meetings, and shared resources on for fair or ethical IT businesses and non-profits.
Reviews of places
OpenStreetmap is a wonderful open data platform for geo data. However, one data category is glaringly missing from it: reviews of places, like people are used in mainstream maps apps. For this project, we are developing this function.
Open info about products
Consumers require honest and transparent information about the products they wish to buy, specifically when it concerns social, ethical and sustainable products. For this project, we are building a database of open information about consumer products, using a wiki-model, for use by product comparison platforms.
Benefits
How we work
Open Info is partly run by volunteers, partly by grants and partly by donations. The grants and donations allow us to do more extensive work on projects that are important to us and to fund other open info projects. Check out the section below to learn more about what we can help you with!
